Position Summary
The Experience Designer works in the Office of Experience to support Experience programs and other corporate initiatives with design services. This position engages leaders and team members in interactive design as a consultant to empower them to solve challenges with the use of design thinking. This would include designing and facilitating design workshops, developing artistic renderings that depict the desired design vision, working with team members to prototype, test, and launch new solutions. Working with content experts the experience designer determines the best vehicle for design, presentation, and produces the materials for the requester. Requests come through the design lab from staff and leaders. This person also serves as a consultant for other staff members needing assistance in experience design or other artistic endeavors.

Responsibilities
Develops new experience concepts.

Using the tenets of human-centered design, develops new concepts for design solutions with stakeholders, and produces artistic renderings, prototypes, or mock-ups using creative skills and abilities.


Serves as a design consultant.

Serves as design consultant to representatives of various hospital departments and subs to determine the most effective process necessary to support experience design needs.

Acquires human-centered design/design-thinking skills to facilitate collaborative (co-design) initiatives.

Advises and trains staff members in techniques and methods.

Advises and trains staff members in techniques and methods of developing and evaluating specialized materials and equipment, including 3D pens and printers, design, and collaboration tools.

Maintains and applies knowledge of design technology.

Maintains and applies knowledge of the technology necessary to support corporate experience design needs.


Catalogs and maintains design portfolio.

Catalogs, schedules, distributes and maintains records of design projects for submissions and annual reports.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree (4yrs) required

User Experience, Building Arts (architecture, interior design, furniture design), Experience Design, Service Design or similar design studies

Proficient in Microsoft Office, presentation software, Adobe Creative Suite, and modeling software, such as AutoDesk Revit or Google Sketchup, with the ability to learn new programs quickly (as needed). Physical model-making skills preferred.

1 year to 3 years required in internships, previous jobs, special projects related to coursework, volunteer work in field.
