Graduate Assistant-Scholarship & Emergency Grant Programs - University Admissions

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION: 
1) Marketing/promotion of university scholarship program application tool-Scholarship Finder. a) Represent & promote tool to prospective & current students at Resource Fairs & other university outreach opportunities b) Coordinate university Scholarship Fair annually in January. 2) Web content development & content generation. Create content for/build Scholarships Office website. Research & vet external scholarship opportunities for current students/provide student outreach & application assistance. 3) All other duties as assigned by supervisor. Assist with email/phone communications related to scholarships. Meet with students about Admissions/School related needs. May include night and weekends.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date. 
  • Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing. 
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment. 
 
SALARY/STIPEND: Up to $10,000 (20 hours/week) plus tuition stipends (up to 9 credits per semester), dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for tuition waiver.

Minnesota State System policy requires that graduate assistants must reside within the State of Minnesota for the duration of their appointment.
