Deputy Field Organizer for Hans Riemer for County Executive
Hans Riemer for County Executive seeks field deputy organizers for a competitive 2022 primary election. The role will start in June and run through at least the July 19th primary.
This is a highly competitive role and competitive applicants have excellent people skills, a clear work ethic, and a deep desire to learn how a modern political campaign runs. This is a small team, and we are committed to internationally investing in our organizers so they have the skills to be highly competitive applicants for midterm congressional and/or coordinated roles. First time organizers encouraged to apply.
Hans Riemer is running for Montgomery County Executive with a bold, progressive vision. First elected in 2010, Hans currently serves as an At-large Member of the Montgomery County Council. On the Council, he has stayed true to his values and his belief that we can have growth, a clean environment, sustainable energy and livable communities. In this way, Hans works to take the best of progressive thinking from the 20th century and reimagine it for the 21st century with its demand for equity, opportunity and solutions that work for and advance all.
Responsibilities Include:
- Executing a robust voter contact program using doors, phones, P2P SMS, digital, relational, and other creative forms of voter outreach
- Completing 2-3 canvassing packets each day, including an ambitious weekly door goal
- Building and training in-district volunteer capacity to reach ambitious voter contact goals and autonomously run a distributed organizing program
- Run and prepare canvasses and phone banks, including printing lists and cutting turf
- Training and managing a large team of field, political, and digital interns
- Hitting daily call time goals and personal door goals
- Other relevant responsibilities as needed

- A commitment to progressive Democratic politics
- Kindness and empathy in a high-pressure campaign environment
- Exceptionally well organized with the ability to meet strict deadlines
- Disciplined and solutions-oriented approach to all tasks
- Experience recruiting and managing large volunteer teams and experience with VAN
- Familiarity with local politics in Montgomery County
- Commitment to bringing an equity orientation to campaigning and team management
- Knowledge of and thoughtful opinions about various campaign tools including peer-to-peer, voter contact, and digital platforms
- First time organizers encouraged to apply.
