Human Resources Coordinator

Performs a variety of human resources related functions to include the coordination of the hiring process. Serves as a liaison to departments to ensure compliance with applicable County and departmental policies. Provides support in various areas within the Human Resources & Risk Management Department.
  • Coordinates the recruitment process to include screening employment applications, scheduling interviews, notifying selected applications for interviews, preparing interview packets, conducting interviews, processing background and reference checks and preparing letters to applicants not selected for positions.
  • Prepares Payroll Change Request (PCR) forms for personnel actions and payroll changes to include new hires, terminations, promotions, employment status and salary changes. Coordinates off-boarding as applicable. 
  • Prepares employment offers and coordinates new hire processing including coordinating new hire paperwork and notifying appropriate personnel regarding security key cards and photo IDs. 
  • Answers human resources related questions and makes referrals as needed for issues related to benefits, retirement, training, compensation and classification.
  • Assists employees with personnel matters, policy and procedure questions and other related issues. 
  • Provides appropriate data to other departments as necessary; utilizes JD Edwards software to compile reports per departmental requests.
  • Maintains statistical data on all phases of employment process.
  • Prepares, maintains, updates and archives personnel files for all County employees.
  • Maintains the NeoGov application database; performs an audit for each posting at the position closing and/or weekly and submits applications to the hiring department in a timely manner. Ensures departments receive the appropriate data. Adheres to all policies related to the application process and application retention.
  • Processes job postings and related advertising with hiring departments and distributes posting to appropriate departments/sites, ensuring accuracy of information and makes necessary corrections as requested. 
  • Assists internal and external applicants with inquiries regarding employment opportunities. 
  • Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Minimum two (2) years Human Resources experience required; Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or closely related field and one (1) year office/clerical experience may substitute for the two years of human resources experience. 
  • Must possess thorough knowledge of administrative and professional management practices and office automation techniques.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to operate a variety of standard office equipment.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software and HRIS systems. Extensive Excel knowledge required.
  • Must be customer service oriented and possess a high level of organizational skills, and initiative.
  • Must possess a strong attention to detail with the ability to determine appropriate workflow and to complete all task within deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise tact and courtesy in frequent contact with employees, outside agencies and the general public.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, public officials, and the general public.
  • Must be honest, truthful, trustworthy and possess a high degree of personal integrity.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and evaluate various methodologies and associated data.
  • Ability to manage, coordinate, and prioritize multiple projects using professional judgment with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Must pass conditional post offer background investigation and drug screen.
