Your Role:
As a Controls Engineer Intern at EMD Electronics, you will assist with developing equipment network communication applications for Delivery Systems and Services products (GASGUARD, CHEMGUARD, and POLYFLOW). Our products are used globally in the Semiconductor industry to supply hazardous gases and chemicals.

This position is an opportunity to grow the candidate’s skills in PLC-HMI-Embedded systems programming, hands-on laboratory operations, communication/collaboration, and MS Office proficiency.

The candidate will work closely with the software and firmware engineers, while interfacing with the manufacturing engineers, commercial team, quality functional test technicians, field service engineers, operations engineer, and outside vendors.
The assignment will take place onsite at Tek Park, Breinigsville, PA. with optional remote work opportunities.

Work Scope:
  • Create and test OMRON and SIEMENS PLC programs using ladder logic and structured function block format
  • Create and Test HMI graphic interface programs using IGNITION software
  • Create and test functional operation programs for Gas and Chemical delivery systems using an internal custom software editing tool

Who You Are:
  • Controls Engineering major preferred but other science fields considered
  • Strong communication/writing skills
  • MS Office
  • Experience in a collaborative environment
  • Desire to perform hands-on work in a laboratory environment

Basic Qualifications:
A Senior currently pursuing a BS degree in Software/Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline
