Public Policy Intern - Council's Office
General Purpose: The Legislative Public Policy Intern shall assist the Director of Legislative Affairs in performing research tasks related to the City’s legislative process, which includes assisting in drafting proposed legislation, legal research, and other additional administrative tasks.
Essential Duties:
•Assist in preparing documents for various meetings of the public body;
•Conduct legal research;
•Create and maintain standard and electronic records in accordance with state and local law;
•Research, summarize, and draft reports regarding municipal law;
•Maintain, organize, and sort records in accordance with City Records Policy;
•Build, update, and maintain records retention database(s);
•Audit City ordinances and policies;
•Assist in codifying City ordinances;
•Attend certain City Council meetings—Mondays at 7:00 pm;
•Create and/or give presentations to Council or other departments and agencies;
•Must be willing to complete Ohio Sunshine Law training within the first week of employment;
•Other related administrative tasks as assigned.
