Licensing Specialist

About the role:
The Licensing Associate will be responsible for managing and coordinating licensing approvals and contracts annually to drive/maximize sales and efficiency for our collegiate business. They will create tracking and reporting reports on the status, working cross functionally with design, sales, finance, and production, resolving roadblocks in a timely manner. This position will also be responsible for wholesale order administration, assisting account executives, Sales Development Associates, outside Sales Reps, and having exceptional customer service and organizational skills.          
Crew Position:
Licensing Approvals

  • Manage the collegiate approvals master plan and on a weekly basis, update and distribute for cross functional visibility and communication.
  • Request collegiate artwork from design via the collegiate artwork request tracker in SharePoint for all seasonal planned and at-once style/color/schools.
  • Review collegiate artwork by each college and submit for licensing approval through licensing firm(s) portals.
  • Maintain the following tabs on the collegiate approvals sheet by year: Approvals, Pending, TAG#, Licensing Company, and Approvals Timeline.
  • Create and execute licensing agreements for new schools, product categories, logo usage and general agreement rights.
  • Maintain accurate records of all contracts, addendums and agreements, and coordinate communication across the finance and sales teams.
  • Maintain up to date information for all contract rights - product categories, distribution channels, and general rights by school as well as royalty rates, MRGs, etc.
Sales Support Duties

  • Assist Senior Account Relationship Associates, Sales Development Associates, and Outside Sales Representatives with order maintenance, inventory allocation, and returns/exchanges.
  • Answer phone calls and emails to assist wholesale accounts for general questions, occasional reorders, order tracking, etc.
  • Administer wholesale order maintenance, monitor backorders, and maintain wholesale PIMS (product information management spreadsheets).
  • Monitor monthly wholesale orders that need to be cleaned up (canceled, extended, or items canceled off) via the open order report.
  • Attend trade shows as needed.

Know the ropes...

  • BA/BS degree required
  • Background in production, procurement, sourcing, or financial analysis
  • Generally, 2+ years of experience in purchasing/inventory, merchandise licensing or apparel industry.
  • High proficiency in standard Microsoft Office programs, experience utilizing Excel analytical tools (formulas, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Lift and/or move up to approximately 35 lbs frequently
