Position Summary  
As a Youth Development AmeriCorps Member with True North AmeriCorps, you will help schools and community-based programs respond to unmet needs of their students. Service could include several tasks such as check ins, social emotional skill building, enrichment programming, and more. 
 
This is an AmeriCorps service position. The service term runs from May 16th-August 31st, 2022. AmeriCorps members come from a wide variety of backgrounds and interests- we celebrate diversity and encourage all who are interested to apply! 

About the Site: Hartley Nature Center
Location: 3001 Woodland Ave Duluth, MN 55803 
Position Size : Full Time - 35 hrs/wk
Schedule: M-F 8am-4pm
Description : Hartley Nature Center Summer Camps serve grades K-6 with high quality environmental education and recreation. The student-led, curiosity-driven education model allows students to authentically connect to their place. The AmeriCorps members with this program will assist educators in developing and delivering environmental based content to people of all ages in camps and community programming. They will join a friendly, dynamic staff that is dedicated to carrying out Hartley Nature Center’s mission of inspiring lifelong connections with nature through education, play and exploration.

What It Takes 
Great members are those with the desire to help our communities and our kids. Come as you are, we’ll provide the training you need! That said, you will need to meet the following minimum qualifications by the time you begin your service: 
  • 18 years of age or older by your start date. 
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent by your start date. 
  • Must be either a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States. 
  • Able to pass the pre-service background check process. 
  • Prior offenses may not be an automatic disqualification.
