Instructional Design Intern

What You’ll Do:

We are seeking an intern to join the Product – Instructional Design team.
You will assist with creating and enhancing ready-to-use instructional activities for our teachers' use in the classroom. This includes work on our popular Background Builder series of instructional activities for Back-to-School, doing research on effective instructional strategies to expand our current offerings, and enhancing our current instructional activities that are developed in support of timely events, celebrations, and holidays (e.g., Black History Month). You will also explore opportunities to extend our instructional support to high-school teachers and present a recommendation to the team.

Responsibilities:
  • Help create instructional resources for teachers across multiple grade bands and subject areas
  • Research new ideas for instructional activities
  • Develop scope of work for revision or creation of specific instructional activities (e.g., number of activities, time to create or revise each activity, total time for project completion)
  • Document progress of activity creation or revision along with metadata for reporting.
  • Review and publish updated and net new instructional activities using the Digital Asset Management system.
  • Provide regular status updates during ad hoc and team meetings.

What you can expect from us:
You will gain deep experience in how an ed-tech company approaches the instructional design process from establishing an instructional challenge statement and working it through to a live "resource" within the DE platform. In this process, the intern will have the opportunity to work across the company and learn how the product development team interacts with and relies on other teams in the organization. Additionally, the intern will have opportunities to connect to classroom practitioners (i.e., teachers, instructional coaches) to gain insights into their instructional needs and challenges. A very tangible benefit of working as an intern on this team is that their =work will result in published resources within our platform that teachers will use with students.

If the candidate selected is a current student, the offer will be to participate in the Company's Summer Internship Program. The paid internship program is 8 weeks from June 21, 2022 – August 19, 2022. Students must be able to commit to 30 hours/week employment during the internship.
