Social Impact Intern

What You’ll Do: 
 
We are seeking an intern to join the Partner Impact Team at Discovery Education. 
 
As a Partner Impact Intern, you will support an active team of teammates whose role it is to build, grow and launch corporate social responsibly programs, for some of the world’s most innovate companies.  You will learn to build a professional portfolio showcasing your client service skills, your ability to do research and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data and communicate promptly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.  
 
You will have the unique opportunity to go above and beyond in your position by proactively reaching out to your colleagues to help with projects and identify and create efficiencies to support your colleagues. This internship is a great opportunity to network and learn more about client service, collaboration, corporate social responsibility, and the k-12 education landscape.  
 
You will gain hands-on client service experience with the Partner Impact Team’s portfolio of partner programs and have an impact on the teachers & students Discovery Education serves. 
 
You will:  
  • Take on ad hoc projects to support the Partner Impact Team and their large portfolio of clients 
  • Create monthly metrics reports for partners (Excel & Adobe Acrobat) 
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders via email and internal office communication platforms 
  • Provide administrative support for the Young Scientist Challenge 
  • Update important internal databases 
 
If the candidate selected is a current student, the offer will be to participate in the Company's Summer Internship Program. The paid internship program is 8 weeks from June 21, 2022 – August 19, 2022. Students must be able to commit to 20 hours/week employment during the internship. 
This is a PAID internship.   
 

Who You Are:   
  1. Professional Experience: You have worked in a professional setting in the past, supporting a team and collaborating with others, to achieve toward a common goal or complete a project.   
  2. Knowledge & Skills: Problem solving skills, strong email communication skills, critical thinking skills, self-discipline, a collaborative mindset, well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, adaptability, and a strong sense of initiative when it comes to projects and personal portfolio building 
  3. Education: (Associates, Bachelors, Master) or equivalent combination of education and work experience 
  4. Technical Skills: Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel & PPT), Zoom, data collection, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook, and Slack 
  5. Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication as well as strong interpersonal skills 
  6. Self-Motivation and Self-Starter: Driven self-starter and problem solver; ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks, proactively manage numerous projects, and prioritize competing timelines; demonstrate a problem solving/ solution-oriented approach 
  7. Learning Orientation: Always willing to learn something new, not rigid in beliefs or expectations  
  8. Focus on Diversity: Have a demonstrated ability to understand, accept and engage with people of diverse backgrounds. 
  9. Sense of Humor: Because we all need to laugh sometimes  
  10. Legal right to work in the United States
