Video Production Intern
What You’ll Do:
We are seeking an intern to join the Discovery Education Video Storytelling team
You will join a team of seven (writers, producers, and editors) who are responsible for creating all video storytelling products for the Corporate Educational Partnerships (CEP) Video Hub. You will be involved in all facets of our work: pre-production (researching, pre-interviewing, concepting, and scripting), production (interviewing, filming, and field producing), post-production (editing, graphics, color correcting, etc.), and media management. You will be part of client calls, internal status meetings, and bi-weekly video hub planning sessions. You will have the opportunity to shadow Video Hub members one-on-one to learn about their jobs and be given the chance to meet and interact with people in other departments at Discovery Education.
Some of the responsibilities and goals of this internship include:
- Screening, writing metadata, uploading new footage, and maintaining the Video Hub stock footage library;
- Access to the Adobe Creative Cloud platform with scheduled “solo time” each week to take tutorials and learn how to use such creative tools as Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Training and usage of our virtual filming platform
- Producing, writing, and/or editing a tangible story or story element, something that you’ll be able to add to your “reel” to show future employers as a sample of the creative work that you’re capable of doing.
Candidates for this internship must have some prior video production experience, with samples of work that can be shared. Candidates usually have a major or minor in film or video production. Candidates also typically have some postproduction experience. We would like to know what areas of production the Candidate is most interested in. We’ll attempt to tailor the program to your areas of interest.

If the candidate selected is a current student, the offer will be to participate in the Company's Summer Internship Program. The paid internship program is 8 weeks from June 21, 2022 – August 19, 2022. Students must be able to commit to 40 hours/week employment during the internship.
This is a PAID internship.
Who You Are:
- Professional Experience: Some experience with all facets of video production. (From pre-production through postproduction.
- Knowledge & Skills: Basic knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud programs (Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and After Effects), Microsoft Office Applications, and basic camera operating skills. Excellent communication skills are a must.
- Education: (Associates, Bachelors, Master) or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Technical Skills: Adobe Creative Cloud programs, Microsoft Office Applications, and basic camera operating skills.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication as well as strong interpersonal skills
- Self-Motivation and Self-Starter: Driven self-starter with the ability to do what needs to be done without being micromanaged; ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks, proactively manage numerous projects, and prioritize competing timelines; demonstrate a problem solving/ solution-oriented approach
- Learning Orientation: Always willing to learn something new, not rigid in beliefs or expectations
- Focus on Diversity: Have a demonstrated ability to understand, accept and engage with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Sense of Humor: Because we all need to laugh sometimes
- Legal right to work in the United States
