Video Digital Content Creation Intern

What You’ll Do:

We are seeking an intern to join the Product – Digital Content Services team.

We create science lessons for K-5 elementary school students and homeschoolers. As an intern on our team, you would have the opportunity to learn how we create our videos and hands-on activities, and contribute to content-related projects outside of lesson development. Depending on your skills, background, and areas of interest, your responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):
  • Organizing and tagging meta data into a tracking system for all licensed content
  • Helping research story ideas and imagery for video scripts
  • Contributing to Spanish project work, including: translating, auditing, and/or editing on-screen text and student-facing materials (if bilingual)
  • Shadowing on user research calls and learning how to synthesize data into actionable content experiments
  • Assisting with filming for activities and/or other marketing-related videos (remotely)
  • Providing project management support to prep lessons to go live, which may involve some training in our back-end system
  • Participating in team brainstorms, lesson dry runs, and visual reviews
  • Contributing to our search taxonomy project and learning how it will be implemented in product to help teachers find lessons more easily

What you can expect from us:
You will have the opportunity to learn from a multi-functional team of Visual Storytellers, Curriculum Developers, Activity Designers, Project Managers, and Scriptwriters who are excited to share their experience and expertise with you. Our intern would learn not just "the how" of working on a particular project but "the why" and the way it ladders up to our mission of helping kids stay curious. Hard skills the intern would gain from this experience include (depending on intern's area of study and interest areas): research best practices, meta tagging, user research and UX basics, project management basics, video-production skills.

If the candidate selected is a current student, the offer will be to participate in the Company's Summer Internship Program. The paid internship program is 8 weeks from June 21, 2022 – August 19, 2022. Students must be able to commit to 20 hours/week employment during the internship.
