Internship: Economy Campaigns

Reports to: Intern Manager
Location: Washington, D.C. (The Hub has returned to the office 3 days a week as of April 2022, and interns can expect to work from the office at least 3 days a week at that time.)
Internship dates: Start on June 13, 2022 - Last day is August 26, 2022
Status: Full-Time; Non-Exempt
Salary: $20/hour not to exceed 40 hours/week

Launched in 2016, The Hub Project is a nonprofit effort comprised of a growing team of communications, research, operations, and organizing experts who have extensive experience in campaign strategy, digital, and polling and analytics. We believe in a country where everyone has the opportunity to succeed in our economy and participate in our democracy, and we make that vision a reality by partnering with advocacy groups – bringing surge capacity and coordination to build innovative and effective campaigns.
 
Position Summary
The Hub is accepting applications for an Economy Campaigns Intern to support the entire campaign team, across departments in the execution of national and state-based programs focused on educating the public about critical economic issues and holding elected officials accountable to their constituents. Our campaigns leverage a mix of grassroots organizing, paid media, and earned media tactics to advance the goals of the Hub and its allies. This is a paid position.


As an Economy Campaigns Intern, you'll:

  • Provide logistical support for earned media events and activities 
  • Maintain cross campaign task tracker 
  • Draft outlines for campaign tactics 
  • Track and report on the progress of The Hub’s various campaigns
  • Conduct basic research on the media and political landscape to advance The Hub’s day-to-day campaigns
  • Track press coverage on developing stories and campaigns
  • Conduct policy research for various campaigns, attend progressive movement meetings, and report back important details to the team
  • Monitor congressional hearings in real time
  • Assist in managing and updating partnership tracking database
  • Supporting with designing assets for social media and other platforms (often rapid response).
  • Monitoring public polling for key trends and communicate relevant data to internal campaign teams
  • Perform other duties as assigned

This position is based in Washington, DC and candidates will be expected to relocate to work in person when determined by the project. (Safety remains our top priority and we continue to follow CDC guidance.)
