Bilingual Youth Therapist/Social Worker

As a Bilingual (English/Spanish) Youth Therapist/Social Worker you will positively impact your clients by providing culturally-competent mental health services. As an integral part of the clients’ treatment team, you will collaborate with other amazing mental health professionals to help your client build their independent skills, adaptive coping skills, expand their support network, access community resources, and pursue employment and educational opportunities. Seneca’s agency-wide DEI Advisory Board, Employee Resource Groups, and Language Practice Groups help our employees provide culturally and linguistically relevant services to the families we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Provide behavioral health services aligned with Seneca’s Unconditional Care clinical treatment model including intake, assessment, safety, treatment, and discharge planning. 
  • Improve client functioning, safety, permanency, and wellness through non-traditional counseling, therapy, and targeted interventions to ensure stabilization. 
  • Lead and collaborate with the client’s treatment team to offer an array of behavioral health services to support placement stability, safety, and well-being in resource family homes and in the community. 
  • Facilitate treatment team meetings which can include youth, family members, community members, Probation Officers and/or Child Welfare Workers.
  • Serve as an adjunctive clinician on a multi-disciplinary team designed to serve clients and their families for 8 to 10 months. 
  • Present to community partners as it relates to assigned youth’s treatment progress. 
  • Participate in all treatment reviews, program staff meetings, and IEP meetings when necessary. 
  • Assist with planning for transportation arrangements for school, therapy appointments, and court hearings. 
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation and agency-assigned paperwork.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, or social work required; must be eligible to register with the BBS 
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required
  • Valid CA driver’s license and eligibility to be insured under Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy 
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
  • Experience in working with children in out-of-home care (a plus!)
  • Must show proof of Covid-19 fully vaccinated and boosted

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday
  • Full-time, flexible schedule required with the ability to work some evening/weekend hours as needed
  • May need to participate in 24-hr on-call pool 2x per month depending on program

  • Starting at $70,000 annually commensurate with experience plus additional compensation provided upon passing bilingual language proficiency exam
  • Additional $4000 salary increase for BBS licensure
