Summer Social Media/Program Intern
PROGRAM/SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN POSITION – Hiring May/Full-Time(June-Aug); On-Site; Summer 2022

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
A career in Arts Education/Arts Administration
Work in a creative environment at a midsize non-profit arts education organization. Over the course of the internship period, the intern will gain experience in tasks such as but not limited to: implement an entire Youth First Artists-In-Residence (YFAIR) Program from start to finish, up-date website and post social media content, interview artists for Artist Mentor positions, discuss with school and community site staff the best art-discipline for their site, establish timetables for program implementation, and discuss curriculum with artist mentors for the various student populations we provide services for county-wide. Interns will create a positive impact in fulfilling our mission, to prevent youth violence by involving youth in multi-disciplinary arts workshops offered throughout Los Angeles County. This internship will provide direct experiences leading to the development of skills necessary for professional success in an arts education or arts administration career.
Compensation: $16.04/hr. 40 hrs./wk.
Eligibility:
Internship positions will be open to currently enrolled undergraduate (2 or 4-year) and community college students who reside or attend college in Los Angeles County. Recent graduates may apply as long as they have completed their degree between May 1 - December 1, 2022.
Note:
- Students who have already earned a BA, BS, or a higher degree are not eligible for the Los Angeles County Arts Internship Program.
- Students who have previously participated in the program are not eligible to participate a second time.
- Students who are invited to participate in the program will be asked to provide verification of eligibility via college transcripts, driver’s license, and other documents to show enrollment status and/or LA County residence. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

- Possessing excellent verbal, written, critical thinking and computer skills
- Candidate must be reliable, honest, and a self-starter
- Knowledge in all social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
- Willing to travel to various sites in Los Angeles County
- Skilled with time management, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to multi-task
- Help with organization events and PR on as need basis
- Attend arts events to support and recruit artists and community/school sites
- Must have a car and valid license
Familiarity with Mac OS and MS Office applications. A plus: Knowledge of Hootsuite, File Maker Pro, bilingual, and arts education.
