Certified Lifeguards
We are looking for responsible, energetic individuals who are seeking flexible hours in a fun, fast paced environment. Life guarding requires professional and dependable individuals. If you are enthusiastic, love people and the water - this could be the perfect place for you.
Must be able to maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas. Able to create a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with Carmel Swim Academy policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs as a leader and role model for other staff members and patrons.
- Shows up for work in the correct uniform on time and ready to work.
- Knows and practices all emergency procedures and responds accordingly, which includes attending all staff meetings and in-service trainings.
- Maintains effective, positive relationships with the members, participants and other staff.
- Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the aquatic area.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 15 years of age.
- Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid, and Lifeguarding.
- American Red Cross Lifeguard or Equivalent.
- Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness.
- Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with ARC standards.
SCHEDULING
- Schedules are done on a monthly basis.
- Availabilities are given for each month. Lifeguard is responsible for turning in their availability on time in order to be put on the schedule.
- Shifts are 3-4 hours long.
- Shifts range from 4:45am-9pm Sunday-Saturday
- Shifts are scheduled at both Carmel High School (520 East Main Street, Carmel IN) and Prime Life Enrichment Center (1078 3rd Ave SW, Carmel IN)
POSITIONS AVAILABLE
- Year Round
- Seasonal (school year or summer)
PAY RANGE
- $11-$15 per hour
- Pay is determined by experience and type of shift.
- Morning 4:45am-8:30am shifts are $15/hour
