Geotechnical Engineer/Inspector
Job Overview
Johnson Soils is a geotechnical engineering and construction inspection firm with roots dating back to 1947. We are seeking a full-time entry-level engineer who has an interest in geotechnical investigation, soil analysis, and the design of foundations and earth retaining systems for a variety of design projects such as office, retail, educational, industrial and multi-family residential.
Responsibilities for Geotechnical Engineer
· Field inspect geotechnical and foundation elements of projects
· Prepare daily inspection reports for fieldwork
· Perform laboratory analysis
· Prepare engineering calculations
· Prepare plans and specifications for bidding and construction
· Prepare engineering studies and reports
Qualifications for Geotechnical Engineer
· A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
· EIT Certification preferred or the ability to obtain the EIT within 18 months of employment
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical and judgement capabilities
· Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment
· MS office suite and AutoCAD skills
