Financial Planning & Analysis Summer Intern-Undergraduate

Salary Range: $18.99/hour - $22.31/hour

Department Overview:  Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) exists to supply accurate and timely budgets, forecasts, and long range financial plans to help influence business decisions for Kaiser Permanente. These ongoing analytical activities help support Kaiser’s mission and influence the overall financial health of the company.

Intern Project(s):  Projects will consist of, but not limited to, file structure organization, document storage strategies, ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting, staffing/labor trends and analysis, participating in team meetings, etc.

Target skill set: Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Microsoft Teams. Preferred advanced knowledge and functions of Microsoft Excel including the use of pivot tables, advanced formulas, graphs, tables, and charts. Presentation skills and use of PowerPoint to present data and speak to recommendations. Must be able to work in a remote environment.

Desired Major:  Accounting, Business Administration, Corporate Finance, Finance, Financial Analysis and/or Management

Location:  Colorado, USA (Candidate must be local)

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Contributing to a designated project or initiative to meet a KP business objective.
  • Report development and analytics.
  • Project management - planning, execution, and measurement.
  • Learning new applications needed to complete assignments or support the execution of business objectives.
  • Job shadowing in other functional areas.
  • Performing additional duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:
 
Experience
  • N/A 

Education
  • Pursuing a bachelors degree or have graduated from an accredited university within the last year.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

License, Certification, Registration
  • N/A

Additional Requirements:
  • Aptitude to perform data and process analytics and formulating solutions
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.
  • 3.0 GPA or above.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
