Marketing/Business Development Intern
Jefferson Solutions, the government consulting company of Jefferson Consulting Group, a well-respected, woman-owned small business in Washington, D.C. is seeking a Marketing and Business Development Intern to work remotely in the Summer of 2022, dates are flexible. Our ideal intern candidate has a desire to learn, a creative mind, and analytical skills to execute and analyze digital marketing programs for social media, email, search and more.
Duties:
- Work closely with Bids and Proposals Department on critical marketing projects, new business research, proposal efforts
- Perform content and audience audits to identify business opportunities and new content possibilities
- Perform market research to inform social media strategy
- Learn how to write company-wide communications, social media posts and more
- Work with company members to develop content for social media.
- Collect and present data analytics to inform content strategy
- Draft content for the website, press releases, and more
- Research federal agency needs and priorities to support development of account plans and capture plans
- Analyze federal agency budgets
- Review opportunities for bid/no bid decision by leadership
- Support proposal development efforts through writing, reviewing, and editing
Qualifications
- Must be a full-time college student (within first three years) at an accredited college or university
- You must be at least 16 by June 27
- Must currently reside in the US and/or be a US citizen
- Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communications with proven ability to work collaboratively with other functional groups to shape and influence market-specific agendas
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask/prioritize based on urgency
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and lead through influence, including a strong sense of when to take action, delegate, and escalate
- Positive attitude and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent writing skills
- Must be able to work independently on a project basis and meet frequent deadlines
- Excellent team and project management skills
- Strong “sense of urgency” and interest in stretching to the next level
- Demonstrate “innovative” thinking and new ideas
Per Executive Order (E0 14042) proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required prior to your start date
Preferred experience
- Marketing/business development experience or previous internship experience
- Interest in government contracting, consulting or professional services firm.
- Comfort in learning new software/tools.
