Position Description: Market Intelligence & Analytics - Solar Product Management Team
Location: Rochester, N.Y., remote work

SUMMARY - Energy Materials Corporation (EMC) is recruiting an intern to support the Product Management team as the company scales toward its first high-speed roll-to-roll printed BackbonePV™ solar panel. The position is part-time and remote work but may be in person from time to time depending on candidates’ location. The successful candidate will support the Director of Product Management with competitive market intelligence aggregation, organization, and analytical determination among other tasks.
TASKS AND OBJECTIVES
· Contribute to the development and management of a repository of competitive intelligence
· Conduct regular solar industry scans of the competitive environment available from open-source media, world-wide web, government, investor reports among other commonly found sources
· Develop a report mechanism that covers competitor business attributes broadly including financial, business model, product performance and reliability, production capacity, R&D, etc.
· Provide analyses of data cross-referenced to market conditions while providing opinions on strengths and weakness
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Demonstrated passion for renewable energy and knowledge of the decarbonization effort
- Education and or experience with renewable energy, energy, sustainability preferred. Solar industry knowledge and understanding a plus.
- Business administration, marketing, technical background will also be considered
- Analytical skills and a passion for learning highly desirable
- Highly curious with a drive to contribute proactively and creatively
- Mindset, discipline, and IT tools to work remotely
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, SharePoint, Teams), internet browsers
- Proficiency in Chinese or German (reading, speaking) a plus
