Engineering Program & Project Lead (Experienced)

What Your Job Will Be Like
Are you passionate about your work and want to join a dynamic team that solves challenging issues? If so, you could be the highly motivated Engineering Program and Project Lead we seek to join our team!
On any given day, you may be called on to:
  • Team with 4720 department managers, Sr. Manager, Project Managers, Construction Managers and Technical Assistants to understand constraints of projects, workloads, resource leveling, budgeting and other issues that would help the team determine state of health of projects ranging from $10K to $25M across several different departments.
  • Develop and report metrics and data to provide 4720 management an understanding of the current health of Projects work in Facilities Express (FE), Customer Funded Express (CFE), Customer Funded (CF) and our Mesa/NG departments and customers.
  • Work closely with 4800 and 4100 to gather and provide data in support of the 4720 management team.
  • Occasionally lead the project team of internal or external engineering and ES&H personnel: construction contractors, customers, sponsors, and suppliers, to ensure that the project meets scope, schedule, and cost requirements per DOE Orders and Sandia’s requirements.
  • Work closely with project controls staff to identify and address both technical and non-technical risks, opportunities, and other issues that impact the project during the execution phase.
  • Use project plan development and execution, project monitoring and control, and integrated change control for all projects.
  • Make recommendations to 4720 management.
  • Understand the technical tasks sufficiently to identify time requirements, task dependencies, and risks and opportunities.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and implementing in accordance with corporate engineered safety policies/practices.
  • Team with a Sandia Subcontract Professional to act as the Technical Representative on competitive contracts for Architectural/Engineering services, Construction services, or any other Project Support needs.
Qualifications We Require
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture plus five (5) years of demonstrated experience in Facilities Project Management; or Master’s degree in relevant discipline plus two (2) or more years of demonstrated experience in Facilities Project Management; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience with standard project management practices.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance.
Qualifications We Desire
  • PMP certification.
  • Working knowledge of TRIRIGA, Maximo, and other SNL or DOE/NNSA software programs related to Projects.
  • Exceptional communication skills in both a verbal and written format.
  • Experience with developing and presenting data to all levels of SNL management and DOE/NNSA partners.
  • Previous experience with SNL Project Management tools and projects to include budgets.

The Customer Operations Support (CFE) Organization provides project and construction management for customer funded projects ranging from approximately $50K to $500K.
