Entry-Level Site/Civil Staff Engineer

Where would you step in?
As a valuable member of our Land Use and Transportation team, you will help clients with site/civil planning, design, permitting, and construction for land development projects. You may choose to sit in our Westfield, Massachusetts, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, or Rhinebeck, New York offices. You will work in a hybrid office/remote/field model, including flex-time summer Fridays.

Our Civil/Site Planning & Design Team and Projects
Comprehensive site planning and design are essential to a project's successful outcome. Our team helps clients evaluate site development criteria based on each project's unique needs. This may include navigating the complex site approval process; infrastructure, traffic, and parking improvements; construction of new buildings; and more. Athletic fields, park renovations, and mixed-use development are some of the projects we work on.

What will you be doing?
You will play a key role in our dynamic site/civil engineering group servicing private and municipal clients. Some of your projects will include site planning, computer drafting and design, permitting, and construction phase services for land development and renewable energy. You will also prepare technical specifications, cost estimates, reports, and correspondence. You will also be asked to observe construction activities, help with shop drawings and submittals, and create as-builts and record plans.

What do you need?
You will need a BS degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, and you must plan to complete the FE and eventually the PE exam. It would be helpful if you had internship experience doing survey, site engineering, design, permitting, or construction observation. If you have hands-on experience with AutoCAD and hydraulic/hydrologic studies and modeling, that would be a plus.
