Environmental, Health, & Safety Intern
Description
The Environmental Health & Safety Intern will assist the EHS team with various environmental, industrial hygiene, and safety projects to ensure compliance and promote a culture of safety.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct Risk Assessments of manufacturing processes
- Perform safety and/or environmental inspections and audits, including, but not limited to hazardous waste inspections, SPCC inspections, LOTO audits, etc.
- Work with Operations and Engineering to improve Standard Operating Procedures
- Assist with the development, implementation, and management of EHS programs to ensure compliance
- Participate in safety and sustainability committee activities
- Assist in developing proactive safety initiatives
- Conduct ergonomic assessments and suggest improvements
- Review EHS training material and make recommendations for improvement
- Conduct EHS training for small groups
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- Student working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field for the duration of internship.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Able to work onsite in Peoria, IL
Preferred:
- Junior level status
- GPA: 3.0 or higher is preferred
