Project Engineer- Water/Wastewater/Stormwater

The Project Engineer – Water/Wastewater/Stormwater will join our Westfield or Worcester, Massachusetts, Rhinebeck, New York, or Middletown or Shelton, Connecticut offices on a hybrid basis to work on a variety of multidisciplinary water, wastewater, and stormwater projects around the region.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of consulting engineering experience 
  • BS in Civil / Environmental Engineering (MS preferred)
  • Professional Engineering License or E.I.T. with intent to obtain P.E.
  • The preferred candidate would have experience with planning and design of public utilities (water, sewer, drain)
  • Design experience with pump stations and roads or construction observation/administration experience would be a plus
  • Practical experience with MS Office and MS Project a plus
  • Strong, clear, and concise written and verbal communication skills required 
  • Enthusiasm to learn and self-motivated in improving team and personal performance
  • Ability to thrive in a multitasking environment with the flexibility to work with different project teams locally and across several offices and business lines 
  • Strong leadership ability and aptitude and a desire to manage and mentor junior staff 

Responsibilities
  • Perform wastewater and water engineering design tasks and provide engineering design services on traditional design-bid-build projects and design-build projects
  • Participate in the development of drawings, specifications, opinions of probable costs, reports, and prepare final bid packages
  • Participate in project decisions regarding technical approach, cost, and scheduling performance
  • Provide technical assistance and support for projects
  • Support and mentor junior engineers and design/drafting technical staff on project assignments
  • Ensure quality and safety compliance on all Tighe & Bond projects
