Electronics Engineer

PGS is looking for an electronics engineer interested in working in a R&D group that designs marine seismic technology from conception to commercialization. Ideal candidates will have the opportunity to gain experience working on highly visible projects vital to the company. You will be a part of a dynamic, collaborative team that will support the development of your hardware and software skills.


Support, develop, and maintain PGS production products and test equipment by applying principles and techniques of electronic engineering. Executes verification testing of new designs and legacy product upgrades. Project manages various products and ensures a successful customer-vendor relationship.


Salary range based on experience: $70k-80k annually


Main Tasks

  • Provide support during deployment of new technology.
  • Assist with sustaining of commercialized products / solutions.
  • Interpret and execute tasks utilizing electronic schematic diagrams and/or work procedures.
  • Perform design verification of assembled prototype and production hardware.
  • Design and run test programs, collect data, and submit reports and conclusions.
  • Assist with maintaining high efficiency of production at all vendor sites to assure projects are completed on time and within budget. 
  • Collaborate and build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Marine Engineering teams, electronic assembly house interface, Marine Operations teams, and product vendors and partners.

Required Qualifications

  • Formal Education: BSc or MSc in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • Experience: 0-5 years relevant working experience 
  • Proficient understanding of own technical discipline and fair knowledge of related disciplines.
  • Self-motivation, adaptability, and enthusiasm.
  • Desire to learn and progress, with a strong focus on quality, efficiency and achieving high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Creative and dynamic with ability to identify, analyze, and solve technical problems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams.
  • Effective communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written English language skills.
  • Adept understanding of electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, network analyzers, etc.
  • Knowledgeable in the interpretation of analog and digital topologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient use of programming languages desired: Python, C/C++ and/or VHDL/Verilog
