DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
GBH Digital creates web experiences, apps, and games for PBS and PBS Kids, for GBH members and the larger Boston community, and for internal GBH users. Using various front-end and back-end technologies, our group has built sites for American Experience, Antiques Roadshow, Frontline, Masterpiece, NOVA and NOVA Labs, as well as a myriad of games and apps for the PBS Kids properties Arthur, Design Squad, Molly of Denali, Pinkalicious, and Wombats!. Working with the various content stakeholders in the organization, the people who put these experiences together include 10 web developers, 9 design/UX experts, 6 product and project managers, and the 6 members of the digital content group.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Games & Software Development intern will get the opportunity for real world experience while contributing new ideas with questions and curiosity to the interactive team. This intern would focus on one aspect of game development. The areas for contribution could range from character animation to automation tooling.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- contribute to coding of existing educational games under development
- suggest ideas for prototyping using new web technologies
- build automation tools or libraries to speed up games development
SKILL SET
- Experience and interest in game/software development
- Knowledge of some of the following technologies: html, javascript, C#, React, Swift, Spine, git, unit testing.
JOB-STATUS
Paid Internship $15/hour (Part-time)
INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW
GBH internships provide students with valuable work experience and real-world knowledge across many different fields of study, from TV and radio production to web design, accounting, law, and other administrative areas.
INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
- Summer 2022 Virtual Internship dates: June 6th through August 12th
- You must have cover letters for each internship that you are applying to.
- Candidates must have their own computer and access to Wifi.
- Candidates must be in an Undergrad or Grad program and have work authorization for the United States.
