Applications Intern

Proskauer Rose is one of the nation's largest law firms, providing a wide variety of legal services to clients throughout the United States and around the world from offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Boston, Boca Raton, New Orleans, Paris, London, Sao Paulo, Hong Kong and Beijing.

The Applications Intern will provide administrative support to the Applications and Technology Solutions group within the Information Services Department.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop programs and scripts to automate operational processes and monitoring systems
  • Organize and manage software and hardware inventory in the Firm CMDB
  • Perform data analysis and reporting using Microsoft Excel
  • Develop technical documentation and train the trainer user guides on core Firm systems
  •  Troubleshoot and resolve problems for all Firm-supported software and hardware
  • Assist in providing technical assistance and training to lawyers and staff
Qualifications - External
  • Current college Junior or Senior working towards a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or Mathematics
  •  Previous internship or work experience a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  •  Hands-on experience with NET, Java, PowerShell, JavaScript or a similar object-oriented programming language is highly desired
  •  Hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel power user functions, such as VLOOKUPs, Pivot tables, and Macros is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with SQL Server or a related Relational DBMS is a plus
  • Server management experience is a plus
  •  Willingness to work collaboratively as a member of a team with a positive attitude
  •  Ability to carry out certain tasks with minimal supervision after instruction has been provided
  • High level of attention to detail and meticulous follow through
