Program Director Job Description
The Program Director position is a contractual, part-time position with the Irvington Association of Ministers (IAM). There is some flexibility in the hours, but all hours are daytime - no evening hours. The office is located in Irvington United Methodist Church.
 It is a position that demands the ability to work without direct supervision. A degree, or working towards a degree, in social services/human services is desirable. The Program Director is not a counselor or therapist, but a referral specialist. The Program Director does not transport consumers or make home visits.
Scope of Work:
1 – Serve as Program Director of the Assistance Center for the benefit of those in need within the Irvington (Indianapolis) area, and in some cases beyond Irvington boundaries for referrals to other programs who may better assist.
2 –After conducting a needs assessment, make a determination concerning the appropriate response to visitor’s need. Provide assistance as appropriate, following ICAN Procedures.
3 – Document bus ticket distribution, document outlay of funds (rent, utilities) following ICAN Procedures. Make referrals to food and clothing pantries as needed.
4 – Submit a monthly written report to IAM. Meet with IAM during the monthly meetings to report in person report and keep IAM abreast of ICAN activities. 
5 – Screen and supervise all volunteers or interns who work at the Assistance Center. 
6 – Keep the ICAN Facebook Page updated.
