Kids Building Bikes Intern

Nine13sports is looking for an energetic and self-motivated individual to join our team for the spring semester. We will be offering a position in three separate areas that will allow prospective students to apply for a position that best fits their major and field of interest, with the understanding they will be spending their time with us learning and being involved in all aspects of our organization.
About Nine13sports:
Nine13sports® is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that promotes health, wellness, and exercise for local youth with our Kids Riding Bikes®, Kids Building Bikes®, Kids Riding Bikes-STEM, and Explore Indy programs.
We have created a unique initiative in which we have integrated the traditional bicycle with technology to provide a turnkey product for youth programs, schools, and other community organizations. In addition to a core focus of health and fitness, our programs promote community, teamwork, and mutual respect for one another designed to foster a lasting impact.
Internship Details:
The spring internship program will begin on Monday, August 15th, 2022 and will conclude on Friday, December 16th, 2022.
  • Office location is on the near west side of Indianapolis.
  • Internship hours will be 12-14 hours a week, 2 days a week. 1 day will be on a programming site and the other day will be in the office.
  • There will be a few evening and weekend events that you will be notified of beforehand.
  • Stipend to be paid at the completion of the internship.

Qualifications:
  • Interested in pursuing a career in Construction Management, Bicycle Mechanics, Automotive Engineering, General Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Bicycle Operations, Maintenance, and Repair.
  • Available to commit to a semester-long internship, upon start
  • Strong writing, oral, and communications
  • Exceptional attention to
  • Basic competence of bicycle mechanics and parts.
  • Excellent bicycle, mechanical, and technical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and with
  • Pursuing a degree in one of the related fields: Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Manufacturing, Production and Skilled Trades, and Bicycle Operations, Maintenance, and Repair.
