Transportation- Walmart has one of the largest fleets in the nation! The Transportation team implements business processes and improvement strategies to stay current on supply chain and replenishment processes and procedures. We are also the largest grocer so ensuring our stores have items on hand like food delivered to our customers to feed their family, is an important role, among many that you will be working on and making a difference in these times of need.

Last Mile Delivery- Last Mile Delivery works on fulfilling customer demand for everything in the store to the comfort of their homes. Job description
Supply Chain Area Manager Intern
This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of a Department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties throughout the Department as assigned and/or as necessary.

Essential Functions
An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation. Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g. customers, suppliers, associates). Monitor and manage productivity of area of responsibility by preparing, reviewing and/or analyzing business reports. Identify associate, customer, and/or supplier concerns by listening, consulting with others when needed to determine corrective action to take or make recommendations in order to resolve. Implement the business plan for area of responsibility by communicating goals and managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties and coordinating workloads in order to achieve facility goals (e.g., production, quality, safety). Maintain quality and safety standards in area of responsibility by ensuring associates are trained on Supply Chain and company policies, standards and procedures; monitoring associate compliance to policies and procedures; distributing and maintaining procedures and supporting documentation. Supervise and develop associates and leaders in area of responsibility by assigning duties and coordinating workloads, monitoring performance and providing feedback; teaching, supporting and modeling Supply Chain and company policies and procedures; identifying training and development needs; and participating in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates and leaders. Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices. Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.

Physical Activities
The following physical activities are necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position. Observes associate, customer, or supplier behavior.
Enters and locates information on computer.
Moves up and down stairs.
Creates documents, reports, etc., using a writing instrument (such as a pencil or pen) or computer. Moves, lifts, carries, and places merchandise and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds without assistance.
Grasps, turns, and manipulates objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
Visually locates merchandise and other objects.
Visually inspects equipment.
Walk within work area for extended periods of time.
Visually verifies and reads information, often in small print.
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, which could include, but not be limited to lifting protection, fall protection, eye protection, hearing protection, respiratory protection, chemical protection, climate protection and electrical protection such as protective footwear.

Work Environment
Working in the following environment is necessary to perform one or more of the essential functions of this position.
Works in areas requiring exposure to varying temperatures, extreme heat or cold, and/or wet, damp, or drafty conditions.
Work overnight, on weekends, and in varying shifts.

Entry Requirements Minimum Qualifications            
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and in the 2nd half of the program.
  • Cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher.

Preferred Qualifications         
  •  Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Mathematics, or other area of focus relevant to the Supply Chain industry.
  • 1 year's Microsoft Office experience.
