The Aspire Program Support Staff - Intern serves as a contributing staff member on the newly launched Aspire real estate tax credit program (www.njeda.com/aspire/) to assist with review of applications for real estate project funding and with support for data entry, data management, and data analysis functions related to EDA’s need to bring Aspire projects to the EDA Board for approval; and to prepare internal and public reports on Aspire program performance. Elements of project applications that interns will review include market studies, project economics, project financing, project costs, business organization, affordable housing rules compliance, and local policy priorities. Tasks for which intern support will be required include designing and running Microsoft CRM reports based on application materials related to the issues above, analysis, as well as data entry into CRM system. In addition, the Aspire Program Support Staff – Intern will provide feedback on improving website content, and may potentially assist with creating videos designed to educate the general public and internal staff on the Aspire program. Assist with FAQ’s, Excel reporting, and other similar program support.
The Aspire Program Support Staff - Intern may also work with NJEDA Industry Sector Leads, other internal departments, and external partners with the ultimate goal of coordinating economic growth for the industries in the state of New Jersey with real estate program capabilities.
$15-$16 Per Hr.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serves as an EDA assistant on opportunities to improve and assist with early-phase administration of the Aspire Tax Credit Program
- Works with internal and external stakeholders to assist with various administrative functions including designing and running Microsoft CRM reports
- Assists with, and documents, the assessment and evaluation of applicants to determine the eligibility of their projects for the Aspire Tax Credit program.
- Responsible for updating presentation materials as directed
- Works with the NJEDA colleagues, and conducts project-related research.
- Collaborates with NJEDA’s marketing and communications teams to assure web site is accurate, programs are accurately communicated, and success stories are shared.
- Leads independent work and small project teams to execute program strategies.
- Assists with developing and documenting best practices which can be institutionalized across multiple programs; defines and implements needed systems and policies.
- Performs duties to the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.
- Promotes teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative, and customer- focused work environment among division, NJEDA staff, and external customers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM solution and the ability to learn new software packages
