ROC Paid Internship+$2500: Chemical Engineering (RAISE 2022)

This is a RAISE (Rochester Area Internship Summer Experience) Program offered with an additional UR-funded $2,500 living stipend per cohort intern at each of the 10 RAISE organizations. MicroEra Power is located in a StartUp NY Clean Energy Commercialization Center in Rochester, NY. The facility previously hosted major corporate users for fuel cell development. The company is a member of the Clean Energy Business Incubator Program (CEBIP) at Stony Brook University, and Greentown Labs at Boston/Houston. The company is venture backed.
The energy landscape is changing rapidly and innovation plays an important role. MicroEra Power is positioning to pilot a thermal energy storage solution for low-carbon and low-cost heating and cooling for commercial buildings. Seeking intelligent, capable people to join the team as we prepare to pilot, demonstrate, and launch into the marketplace!
Role Description:
- Provide technical support in chemical applications
- Test chemical processes in the laboratory scale
- Prepare samples of selected mixtures for testing
- Contribute to a collaborative design process
- Work across multiple teams in an engineering and manufacturing environment
- Document failures and discrepancies from testing plans
Job Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently graduated from a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related fields.
- Located in Rochester, NY or willing to relocate for position
- Previous chemistry laboratory experience
- Basic statistical evaluation skills
- Willingness to learn and quick at picking up new skills
