Donation and Engagement Coordinator

Summary: The Donations and Engagement Coordinator is responsible for engaging community members and corporate groups in volunteer and donation projects that meet basic resident and participant needs. The scope of the position includes working with and across PPL programs to source donations, resources and partnerships and implement projects that respond to participant and program needs.
 
Responsibilities:
Donation Coordination
Ø Work with PPL staff regularly to identify, prioritize and schedule donation drives for PPL sites and programs.
Ø Enhance outreach and engagement in community to share PPL’s mission and current needs.
Ø Research ways to meet needs under restrictions of pandemic to ensure donors, staff and residents are safe.
Ø Create partnerships with community, faith, and corporate groups to initiate and coordinate creative assembly projects (i.e.., coat drives, hygiene kits, gift cards, school supplies etc.).
Ø Coordinate storage and distribution of resources to participants and staff.
Ø Steward partnerships to provide ongoing sources of critical items.
Ø Effectively communicate PPL’s impact through brief presentations and conversations while engaging with community members and corporate groups.
 
Community Engagement and Outreach
Ø Build new and nurture existing relationships with community members, organizations, other non-profits, schools, corporations, BIPOC-specific groups/committees. 
Ø Attend trainings/community conversations with other organizations within the volunteer management, donations, and DEI realm to build connections and gain insight on best practices.
Ø Seek external opportunities to share PPL information. (In non-COVID times, this would be presenting at community/college events).
Ø Conduct info sessions as a recruitment strategy to educate community/past volunteers on PPL and volunteer opportunities.
 
Volunteer/Donations Communications, Engagement and Retention
Ø Work with volunteer coordinator to organize group volunteer projects
Ø Collaborate with volunteer coordinator with volunteer engagement and appreciation activities
Ø In collaboration with Communications, design/draft newsletters and other internal and external volunteer/donation partner communications (surveys, monthly mailers, updates, etc.)
Ø Manage volunteer private FB group page; work with Communications on social media and design projects.
Ø Enhance volunteer program DEI strategy.
Ø Help with other tasks and admin as needed
Ø Attend weekly internal and external meetings

Ø Some evening and weekend hours will be required.
 
Qualifications:
Ø Some experience working at a non-profit.
Ø Experience with community outreach and donations coordination; ability to track information using a volunteer or other constituent relationship management system.
Ø Self-starter and self-directed, ability to work independently on assigned projects.
Ø Experience with basic data collection and analysis.
Ø Strong communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Ø  Ability to take initiative and to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ø Ability to maintain good working relationships with co-workers and the public and use good judgment.
Ø Knowledge of community programs and resources.
Ø a results-driven style, personal accountability, and be able to identify and implement creative approaches to donations management. 
Ø Proven planning, organizational, and “out of the box” thinking skills.
Ø Knowledge and understanding of the importance of diversity, equity, inclusion in working with program participants and volunteers
