Private Equity Summer Analyst

At the front lines of our success, Associates identify and build relationships with executives at exceptional companies that are identified as investment candidates for the fund. Associates develop an expansive knowledge of a variety of businesses and business models, as well as an intricate understanding of business fundamentals. This is a unique opportunity to join a startup team within an established private equity firm and to develop entrepreneurial as well as private equity investment skills.
 
Role Overview:

We are looking for a candidate with an interest in private equity or investment banking to join the Lorient team as a Summer Analyst. The Summer Analyst will be critical to supporting members of Lorient deal team and business development team in all aspects of existing and potential investments.

The candidate must exhibit extremely strong quantitative and critical thinking skills, be self-motivated, and be able to adapt to several different roles. As one of a small team, the candidate will have a unique opportunity to work closely with senior professionals and the management teams of portfolio companies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following with the support of the Lorient investment team:
•      Identifying and screening potential investments alongside the deal team
•      Drafting and maintaining financial, operational models, and dashboards
•      Supporting the deal team on due diligence on new potential investments
•      Meeting with existing and prospective management teams
•      Performing market and industry research for new investment thesis
•      Monitoring portfolio companies and assisting them with strategic initiatives

•      Excellent computer skills (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint)
•      Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
•      Strong organizational and time management skills
•      Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
 
Ideal candidates are working towards a BA/BS with demonstrated coursework in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or related subjects with exceptional GPA and demonstrated leadership capabilities.
