Position Title: Anatomy/Physiology Tutor

Average Hours/Week: 3-6 hours per week
General Purpose: This position will tutor student-athletes that are enrolled in the BIOL N261 - Human Anatomy and BIOL N217 - Human Physiology classes at IUPUI. The tutor will review course materials and course-related resource. The tutor will help develop study strategies and prepare for exams/quizzes
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Broken down by hours/week
3-6 hours - Conducting tutoring sessions for student-athletes in BIOL N261 and BIOL N217. Review lecture class materials. Work on study strategies and test/quiz preparation. Review class material that is also covered in the lab section.
1-2 hours - Sending tutoring notes of each Student-Athlete to Athletics Advisor
1-2 hours – Other duties and special projects as assigned
Desired Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires weeknight availability from 4:00 PM -9:00 PM.
- Requires zoom availability
Education and Experience:
- Juniors, Seniors, Post-Graduates by academic standing preferred.
- 3.0 or higher College GPA preferred
- College experience with Human Anatomy and Human Physiology
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated skill in communicating individually and in small group formats
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of Zoom and Kaltura
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Ability to professionally communicate student perspectives to staff and administrators
- Ability to positively represent IUPUI and the IUPUI Athletics Advising Office
