Social Impact Intern - Summer Associate (Remote)

As a Summer Associate Intern, you’ll gain insight into how we create and execute on many challenges that come with being one of top retailers in the U.S. This experiential internship opportunity will give you access to develop industry-related knowledge and skills in a professional environment, network with Best Buy employees, and explore various career paths.
 
The Social Impact team leads Best Buy’s flagship philanthropic program Best Buy Teen Tech Centers. It is primarily responsible for ensuring successful outcomes of goals and positive representation of the company. While working on this team, you will enrich lives through technology by working closely on the behind-the-scenes operation and management of several socially responsible efforts. This work encompasses opportunities to learn about the Best Buy Foundation, Teen Tech Centers, employee volunteerism, giving efforts, and the evolving field of Corporate Social Responsibility. 

The Social Impact Summer intern will provide support across the entire Social Impact team, and job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

·      Supporting Social Impact program operations – planning, communication, participant support, reporting, and assessment
·      Actively engage with Best Buy Teen Tech Centers and Charity Classic signature event
·      Assist in the Career Pathways program development, with tasks as needed
·      Assisting in the content creation of Geek Squad Academy training materials and curriculum
·      Collaborating with the team to provide feedback on and build out new programming for teens and young adults from our Teen Tech Centers
·      Creating engaging presentations for various projects
·      Working with internal cross-functional teams as well as external stakeholders and community partners
·      Managing administrative projects and assisting team members as needed
 
Required Skills and Experience:
·     Pursuing a bachelor’s or associate degree from an accredited college/university, graduating between Fall 2022 and Spring 2025
·     Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered)
·     Proficient in Microsoft Office

Preferred Skills and Experience:
·     Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
·     A connection to or passion for mentorship, youth and teen engagement, serving disinvested communities, and technology access
·     Experience in project management
·     Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·     Ability to work in a fast paced and ambiguous environment
