School Community Coordinator (Belmont CLC)

This is highly collaborative work responsible for coordinating the Community Learning Center (CLC) initiative at Belmont Elementary School. 
 
The School Community Coordinator works directly with children in grades K-5, parents, educators, and neighborhood residents to understand their strengths, interests, and needs and help connect them to a system of integrated services, supports, and opportunities offered by community partners.
 
Work involves providing high quality expanded learning opportunities for students during out-of-school time; engaging families in learning; and, developing community leadership through opportunities for parents and neighborhood residents to partner in decision making and determine service opportunities most beneficial to them. 
 
The School Community Coordinator receives support and guidance from Parks and Recreation leadership, the school principal, Lincoln CLC director, curriculum specialist, and community builder.

Qualifications:  High school graduate or equivalent supplemented by college level course work in recreation, physical education or related field plus 6 months - 2 years experience working with people in all age groups in a recreational setting involving program and staff supervision or equivalent.

M - F; 9:30 am – 6:00 pm., with occasional evenings and weekends
