The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is hiring a financial technician for our State Office in Boise. This position is responsible for performing routine and other financial data for use by management and works closely with agency staff to gather required information to perform duties.

Salary
$13.42 - $20.00 Hourly
$27,913.60 - $41,600.00 Annually


Example of Duties:
  • Post receipt deposits, included but not limited to, state, regional, and wire deposits.
  • Maintain required ledgers, logs, and batch documents related payables (expenses, contracts, interagency billings, travel, and reconciliation of regional or state office expenditures).
  • Ensure credit card purchases/receipts are received for financial coding, review, and approval in the SCO Statewide Accounting System.
  • Ensure travel expense receipts are received for financial coding, review, and approval in the SCO Statewide Travel System.
  • Ensure that all recorded capital assets are classified properly, accurately, and systematically. Enable the agency to monitor the physical condition of those capital assets.

Minimum Qualifications:

Good Knowledge of: Financial Record Keeping

Experience: Researching and compiling financial information and preparing summaries and reports; using personal computers to enter, retrieve, and edit financial data.

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to sit and work on a computer for 2-4 hours at a time
  • Ability to reach and bend for filing purposes
  • Some periods of heavy reading and typing required
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds when working with file boxes
  • Some travel may be required
  • Other: Occasional site visits may be required
