Junior Interior Designer

Deborah Houston Interiors is a residential interior design firm seeking a highly motivated, obsessively organized, and creative Junior Interior designer to assist the principal with all aspects of projects from design development through completion. Individual should share the firm’s clean-lined, modern yet classic aesthetic sensibility. Firm is looking for a sophisticated professional designer who is familiar with high-end furniture lines and materials, vintage and collectable furnishings and detailed interior architectural drawings. Position includes specifying material selections & fabrics; helping prepare full sets of construction documents & schedules; interfacing with vendors & contractors; assisting with project oversight, field surveys, and digital presentations in PowerPoint/Pages, as well as creating documents in Revit and/or Sketchup. Knowledge of Millwork details and design is required.

Job Requirements

- Degree in interior design, preferably with 2 years plus experience

- Highly proficient in AutoCAD

- Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel.

- Exceptional attention to detail & extremely organized

- Strong written & oral communication skills

- Must be a self-starter who is capable of working independently

- Understanding of high-end fabrics and materials; vendors
