Entry Level Structural Engineer

GMEP Engineers is a fast-growing engineering consulting firm, providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and Structural engineering services, as well as Revit modeling & CFD analysis. We pursue engineering excellence with efficiency and dedication. Our main office is located in Orange County, California and we have branch offices in other areas of California and Texas. Currently we are seeking entry level structural engineers for our Lake Forest, CA office. The ideal candidate shall be self-motivated and quick learner. Effective, organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.

· Fundamental knowledge of wood concrete, or steel structure design.

· Fundamental knowledge of Building Codes, including NDS, ACI 318, AISC and ASCE-7.

· Knowledge with common used design tools, including Encercalc, RetainPro, Ram Concept and Etabs.

· Familiar with AutoCAD or Revit.

Job Duties

· Assist to prepare structural analysis and drawings.

· Assist in design of vertical and lateral load resisting systems utilizing industry standard methods/tools.

· Take part in on-site observations and prepare structural assessment reports of existing buildings.

· Review shop drawings.

· Interact and coordinate with clients, general contractor and consultants of other disciplines.

· Bachelor of Science in civil engineering degree or equivalent is required.

· Experience with analysis tools for Structural design.

· Internship or working experiences in professional firms is preferred.

· Understanding of engineering statistics, dynamics and structural load path.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Team player and proactive attitudes.
