We are a large, fast growing, multi-location Industrial Packaging Distributor in the United States and we need a Buyer to join our team at our Glenwillow, Ohio location.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

As the primary contact for your assigned suppliers, you will be responsible for executing the day-to-day buying activities and onboarding new products in coordination with Sourcing, Inventory Planning, Regional Purchasing Managers, and Customer Service.
  • Process purchase orders to replenish stock in a timely and accurate manner to ensure a high fill rate for our customers.
  • Monitor, communicate, and follow up as necessary on late orders from your suppliers.  Timely communication to sales and customer service for any back orders or late deliveries affecting our customers.
  • Investigate and resolve invoice and receiving issues in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with suppliers and Quality Department to resolve quality issues quickly. Process return to vendor claims as necessary.
  • Arrange freight for both domestic and global product shipments.
  • Ensure accuracy of item information including costs, lead times, and reorder points.
  • Develop and implement cost savings projects
  • Assist in annual warehouse inventory counts.
 
Successful Candidates will possess the following qualifications and skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or University in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or other related course of study. 
  • 5 years of experience in a buyer role within a distribution environment. 
  • Experience onboarding new products
  • Experience with Oracle ASCP is a plus
  • Advance knowledge of Excel
  • Work well with a diverse group of people at all levels of organizations including Customer Service and Suppliers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and different workflow processes
  • Travel domestically occasionally to visit suppliers, provide support to warehouses, and participate in inventory counts. Travel will be < 10%.
