Public Relations Intern

Our internship program is designed to provide real-world experience that is directly related to your academic discipline and career goals and provide you a better understanding of career options for your degree. This 10-week internship program runs from June 6th – August 12th.
Components of the program include:
·      Hands-on experience working as a member of a specific department and team.
·      Assigned projects to accelerate learning of key functions/process.
·      Cross-functional departmental exposures within the corporate office.
·      Exposure to other business areas to ensure full understanding of the company structure and strategy.
·      Professional development sessions and networking opportunities.
·      End of program presentation of project findings, and recommended course of action to executives.
The Public Relations Intern will gain an understanding and support the efforts to drive publicity for Ulta Beauty.
You’ll accomplish these goals by:
·      Supporting the efforts of the PR team to drive publicity for Ulta Beauty in beauty and retail media
·      Coordinate and fulfill editor requests for samples/products
·      Monitor and analyze press coverage
·      Maintain and update department media lists and media outreach contacts
·      Maintain and update master media briefing document for media interviews
·      Draft and edit copy for media materials (media alerts, pitches, bios, etc.)
·      Develop content to drive editorial coverage including monthly PR newsletter
·      Witness and participate in brainstorms, internal team meetings, and agency conference calls
·      Assist with coordination and attend media events where appropriate
·      Create a Hispanic focused PR campaign and present a formal recommendation at the conclusion of internship
·      Currently pursuing bachelor’s degree and entering final year of school
·      Strong academic record
·      Previous work experience and involvement with on-campus organizations or activities
·      Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
·      Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail and sense of urgency
·      Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and interact with various levels of leadership
·      Proven command of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Microsoft Teams
·      Curious to always learn and take on new challenges
·      Solutions-oriented and a natural collaborator
·      Strong, genuine passion for beauty and/or retail PR
