The position supports the Department of Wildlife Resources agency’s management responsibility for all real property holdings, performing duties related to the execution and administration of real estate leases, licenses, acquisitions, easements, rights-of-way, resolutions and assistance to boundary issues and disputes, and all types of real property conveyances. 
The position is responsible to develop, establish, execute and maintain uniform processes to support the appropriate development and promote timely coordination (handling and approval) of all real property actions and transactions, analyzing issues and devising/executing solutions independently. 
The position assists in maintaining the agency’s land inventory, including permanent hard copy and electronic documents, and legal records of deeds, plats, and other historical data for land transactions, in conjunction with the program supervisor.
Under the guidance of the Office of the Attorney General, the position manages assignments to assure legal sufficiency of instruments and actions for the protection of the agency in matters pertaining to real property. 
Minimum Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of real estate transactions and procedures.
Working knowledge of real estate inventory and records management as well as basic real estate principles. 
Skill in using personal computers with MS Office and Word, or similar software programs. 
Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, conduct and evaluate real estate transactions
Ability to read and interpret USGS topographical maps, survey plats and legal property descriptions.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to recommend solutions to complex or unusual problems.
Ability to develop and maintain successful work relationships inside and outside the agency.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Valid Virginia Driver’s license or the ability to obtain
Preferred Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with course work in real estate, business, paralegal studies or a related field.
Experience in real property acquisitions, transactions and property management. 
An equivalent combination and training and experience indicating possession of the preceding knowledge and abilities may substitute for education.
Previous Commonwealth of Virginia experience is preferred.
