2022 Summer Internships – Treasury & Financial Planning & Analysis

Headquartered in downtown Chicago, Invenergy has successfully developed 189 large-scale sustainable energy generation and storage facilities in the Americas, Europe and Asia.  We are looking for third and fourth year undergraduate students who want to work alongside our team to bring innovative energy projects from the drawing board to reality.

As an intern at Invenergy, you’ll expand your technical, analytical, and professional skills while learning about the growing clean energy industry. Visit an Invenergy Plant, attend regular lunch-and-learns with leaders from across the company, and explore the city with your fellow interns.

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

As an Intern in Invenergy’s Treasury & FP&A team, you will have the unique opportunity to work with an excellent team to understand how Invenergy manages liquidity domestically & internationally including: cash management, short-term cash forecasting, credit support, foreign exchange and investments. In addition, you will have the opportunity to see how this experience applies to our long-term budgeting, planning and analysis process. All the while, paving the way to make a difference in the future of Invenergy and sustainable energy.

  • Gain an understanding of the Financial close process for Invenergy’s transactions (bank account activities, collateral replacement, impact on the financial statements, etc.).
  • Contribute to overall cash management strategy & support daily cash forecasting activities.
  • Assist with ongoing updates and continued build out of new GTreasury (our Treasury Management System).
  • Oversee bank fee analysis across multiple banks.
  • Assist with FBAR activities.
  • Assist with daily Investment & Foreign Exchange transactions.
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of key business drivers, trends, and metrics and provide recommendations on actions and next steps.
  • Assist with the monthly and quarterly reporting on relevant operational and financial metrics across corporate overhead and all of Invenergy’s business segments.
  • Contribute to the monthly preparation and review of the company-wide budget vs. actual performance.
  • Take the lead on one process improvement project over the course of the summer under the guidance of the team.
  • Provide support to ad hoc requirements as they arise.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Team player driven to make continuous improvements.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines while working autonomously.
  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year bachelor’s degree program with an expected graduation date between May 2022 and May 2023.
  • Majoring in a quantitative discipline with a cumulative GPA of 3.0. Preferred majors include:
  • Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to complete a 10-12 week internship program in Chicago, IL beginning in May/June 2022.
