Canoeing Instructor

Canoeing Instructor - Job Description
Join the team of staff at Camp Wawenock on Sebago Lake in Maine, a traditional seven-week girls' camp, to help children develop canoeing skills. Teach canoeing to 8–16-year-olds and work with other canoeing counselors to lesson plan, break down skills, and challenge campers on an individual basis. Staff instruct the same camper groups all summer, which allows for consistency in instruction and lesson planning. Camp Staff are also counselors who live in a cabin with a group of 4-7 campers, along with another staff member.
 
Requirements
●     Strong skills in canoeing
●     Experience teaching and/or working with children preferred, but not required
●     Strong communication and interpersonal skills
●     Flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to listen and share ideas
●     Desire to live a close-knit, positive camp atmosphere
●     Willingness to follow all protocols, including COVID-19 health and safety practices
●     Minimum commitment dates: June 22nd - August 17th, 2022
