Entry Level Financial Accountant

Entry Level Financial Accountant - Financial Reporting – Downtown Columbus, Ohio

What you’ll do
You will work alongside senior staff members and be responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial data used to perform monthly journal entries and reconciliations of our General Ledger accounts. You will get hands-on experience in assisting with the preparation and analysis of internal and external reports such as the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) and CEM pension benchmarking reports. You will assist with implementing new policies and procedures required by GASB legislation and organizational changes and be instrumental to the financial statement audits. What you’ll bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Intermediate Excel knowledge is a must
  • Previous experience in a public sector environment and knowledge of Great Plains software is a plus
  • Have an analytical mindset with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Be a self-starter with strong problem-solving skills
  • Be able to organize your work and multi-task on multiple projects
  • Experience in performing account reconciliations and preparing journal entries is highly desirable
