Summer 2022; IT Internship (Multiple Opportunities!)

Schedule – 40 hours a week, Monday – Friday
Summer 2022; May 23- July 29
 
Advance Auto Parts isn’t just your local auto parts store. We are the leading competitor in the auto parts industry. We are always looking for ways to better our strategies and broaden our horizons; which is why we are excited to take on a whole new team of interns. For this 10-week paid internship we are looking for interns to specialize in the following areas: Communications, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Merchandising, Retail Operations, Strategy, and Supply Chain. The week of welcome kicks off by pairing you with a mentor who will guide your experience as you work on a project tackling some of our top business initiatives.
 
This isn’t a job shadow opportunity, this internship is the chance to get involved, contribute and truly experience our workplace. This will be a fun, teamwork atmosphere with the opportunity to build strong peer to peer relationships. The internship will end with the opportunity to present solutions to relevant business problems to some of our top executive staff members. SUMMARY
Our IT Interns will be part of exciting strategic programs and projects designed to make an impact on our business.  During this internship you will partner closely with cross-functional teams across the company and help shape the future of the business.  We are opportunities in the below functions:
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES will include the following; other duties may be assigned:
Our IT Interns will be assigned to one of six strategic projects within the function. You will have the opportunity to directly influence through the following responsibilities:

Customer Facing Systems: This intern will assist with writing and fact checking requirements to help with the care and feed of our digital workplace portal applications. Create and disseminate analytics reports on trending topics, readership, engagement, and assist with A/B testing to find solutions for pain points and aspects where the UX is lagging or substandard.

Cyber Security: These interns will either assist in the building of the DAST capability, analyze and assess vulnerabilities in our program or take a hands-on approach with IAM Metrics mapping. This would include defining IAM control metrics & thresholds, identifying metadata and algorithm for metrics measurement and designing prototypes for metrics reporting


IT Transformation: The IT Transformation intern will gain hands on experience with B2C eCommerce engineering and be assigned to a self-contained project within the eCommerce engineering team that would allow for the development of a feature or capability that we would be unable to reach otherwise!

Corporate Support: This intern will interact with multiple cross functional teams assigned to a Tier 1 Business project. They will analyze business requirements, create and design technical documents and coordinate with other team members to complete assigned deliverables. In addition, this intern will design/develop/test/implement database/UI/application components, create reports and work with business and project managers. 

IT Operations:
IT Service Catalog & Delivery Enrichment Project. The Intern will be assigned an IT service to develop and will partner with Service Delivery Managers, ITSM SMEs and/or consultants to design new, and improve existing workflows in ServiceNow. The project will measurably improve end user experience and streamline the provisioning processes, automating wherever possible. The intern will complete an end-to-end service model in one or more of the following projects: New Hire Onboarding and Provisioning, DevOps, CloudOps & Middleware Services Catalog, newly formed Accounting Services Catalog, or the WorldPac/Autoparts International cross functional catalog and workflows. The project assigned will be selected based on ability to create and deliver a full/measurable service within the duration of the internship, skill set of the selected candidate and readiness of internal team.
