Human Resource and Compensation Data Analyst/Legal Assistant
Roffman Horvitz, a specialized boutique employment law firm in McLean, VA, is seeking to hire a recent/upcoming college graduate as a full-time data analyst to assist in working with client employment data and generating various data and statistical reports primarily in Microsoft Excel.
Our firm was founded in 2015 by former partners and practice group managers at the nation's largest employment law firm and specializes in assisting federal contractor employers with the equal employment opportunity and affirmative action regulatory and data analysis obligations enforced by the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs ("OFCCP'). The firm's client base is comprised largely of Fortune 100/500 companies and some of the nation's most prominent federal contractor employers.
The job involves heavy use of Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas, pivot tables, macros, vlookups, and other more advanced functions. The position is highly analytical, requiring focus and attention to detail as well as a problem-solving mindset. At the same time, successful candidates have tended to have an interest in working at a law firm and applying data analysis and Excel skills in that context. The role is a good fit for someone interested in working at a law firm but who also enjoys data analytics, working in Excel, and problem solving. Several former employees have gone on to attend law school or other graduate school after 2-3 years in the job.
The individual hired will have a history of academic success in undergraduate studies and will have some exposure, presumably through undergraduate coursework or supervised research projects, with statistical concepts and/or advanced usage of Excel. Economics and accounting majors or individuals with coursework involving spreadsheets, large data sets, and statistics would be good candidates. Familiarity with regression analysis and the use of Stata would be a plus.
Firm offers a competitive salary, attractive benefits, and an overall flexible workplace environment. The office is walking distance from the Greensboro Metro Station on the Silver Line. Position is intended for individuals who intend to work for at least two full years before continuing with graduate school. Only candidates with a 3.0 or better undergraduate GPA will be considered.
