Disney Streaming Software Engineering Internship, Summer 2022

This Software Engineer internship within Disney Streaming is with the Core Media DART team. This team is responsible for feature testing of Core Media components (encoders, packagers, and services), along with automation development. This team also develops tools used by engineers within and outside Core Media. In addition, the team also manages software releases and implements a CI/CD infrastructure for the organization.

We are seeking candidates who are interested in software engineering internships at the following location:
  • Morrisville, NC

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with software testing
  • Be involved in technical discussions and design sessions
  • Provide direct input on testability and execution
  • In addition to hands-on testing, this internship will also be responsible for automating tests to be used in future release cycles


Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with Python required
  • Experience in object-oriented software design
  • Knowledge of software design life cycles
  • Exposure to Agile concepts


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of digital media concepts (encoding, packaging, etc) and Over-the-Top (OTT) technologies


Required Education

Currently enrolled undergraduate student studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related field at an accredited college/university and returning to school following the internship.


Additional Information:

  • At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must provide full work availability
  • Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are May/June - August/September 2022. Interns must be fully available for the duration of a 12 week assignment.
