Senior Associate, Research

SKDK, an award-winning public affairs agency, is looking for a Senior Associate for its growing research and international political team.

There is no company that better understands the intersection of press, politics, and policy. With offices in Washington, D.C., New York City, Albany, and Los Angeles, SKDK brings unparalleled strategic communications experience to Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits, philanthropic organizations, labor unions, political committees, and candidates. Whether it is working on the Biden, Obama or international campaigns, assisting corporate clients on establishing messaging around their corporate social responsibility strategy, or guiding a nonprofit through a crisis, SKDK is always at the forefront, leading the charge.
Our research team is in a unique position to work on many of the same types of projects as a traditional polling firm—but doing that work hand-in-hand with ad-makers, speechwriters, and strategists and see the evidence-based strategy turn into real-world applications.
The position would based in Washington DC or New York and report to the managing director and a team of two directors. The work involves providing strategic insights to a wide array of clients, from non-profits to corporations to issue advocacy organizations. Besides research, we also work on international political campaigns.
The ideal candidate has experience working at a polling or market research firm with excellent analytical, communication, and writing skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced/high-stress environment, and meet tight deadlines with limited supervision.

Ideal qualifications:

  • 3+ years working in market research or for a polling firm (related experience in academia or other firms will be considered)
  • Experience managing quantitative and qualitative research projects from start to finish
  • Supervision of research fielding, including working with vendors
  • A proven understanding and mastery of common qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and best practices
  • A proven understanding of data processing
  • Some client management experience
  • Open to new techniques and practices
  • Experience on political campaigns—especially campaigns outside the United States—is a big plus
